This was a practice cake for one to be made for a client later on. The main body was made with a Wilton Wonder Mold and the head, neck, legs and tail were made out of rice krispie treats. The spikes were made out of chocolate. This is a variation of a Wilton "Meet Spike" cake.

6" and 4" cakes covered in fondant. Gumpaste cap on top. 4th experience with cake decorating. I don't know if I will ever get the hang of it, but it's fun to dream.
My 3rd cake and first Topsy Turvey. All of the decorations are made out of fondant, except for the grass, which was RI. The palm tree base is a pretzel log. Thank you ilena for the cute monkeys that inspired us! You do amazing work! Thanks for looking!
My son's cake lady had to back out at the last minute due to being called out of town for work. To save his future in-laws money, he decided we were going to make and decorate the cake ourselves. I was immediately filled with dread, but could not talk him out of it. Ha! This gave me a week to self teach myself a crash course on cake decorating! I bought the tools and supplies and made the flowers, but my son and husband took over the project. As it turned out my son really did want to make the cake afterall. lol It was such a hit, that I have caught the cake decorating fever! Where has this craft been all of my life?! :0)
