Well, the pins ended up being plastic. I bought the plastic pins originally as a mold to mold rice treats into pins and then cover them in fondant. They ended up in the trash. Last minute frustration was to just use the remaining pins. Sorry Mom
Seanie was visiting one day and we were bored, so of course we baked. Found this cake on the internet and he loved it, so we did it. He was so proud.
This cake was one of my first with flowers. I was still taking lessons with Wilton. Although it looks big, it is actually a small tiered pan set. Cute
Mackenzie is turning 4 and loves hearts. This was also a last minute cake for my friend's granddaughter. Fun to do
Seanie was not having a good day, so Nonna thought he should have a baseball. Just a last minute cake for my little darling
Although this looks yellow, it is tan with blue accents. Pastor Ron must have a hundred sweater vests and wears them proudly. Done in buttercream with a rice paper insignia of his church.
Look at the picture in the back of the cake. Believe it or not, my goofy son drew a face on his wife's belly (she is pregnant with their first baby). I had to do it. I just wish I would have remembered to color the fondant, other than that, I love it. So much fun.
Of all my cakes, this is the coolest. One side is spiderman and the other is Batman. Seanie was having a superhero party. This cake was a complete joint effort. Without Tonya it could never have been done. It took us 9 hours, 18 joint, but it was worth it.
This cake was based on a photo given to me of a cake online. Kallie was having a strawberry shortcake party, so I added some figures. Fun cake to make.
All torsos are solid chocolate. The top tier replicates the bride and wedding party, dark blue. About 4 of us got together and made a painting party. It was fun.
My daughter, Jen's, second baby. We knew it was a girl, so that made it easier. Other than the messy fondant, the flower petals kept falling off. I didn't think there would be any petals left for the shower, but overall fun cake.
My nephew, Brandon, wanted an oreo cake. We did it together.
Princess castle for Kallie. The columns are solid chocolate. This was a fun cake to make, although I prefer fondant to buttercream any day.
Seanie was having 2 pirate parties, one for family and one at a gymnastics site for kids. This is actually on two separate boards so each party could have their own cake. The water is jello. Another fun cake adventure.
My little friend, Tommy, wanted a spider man and fire engine cake. Cake on bottom, buildings are rice treats. Fun.
This is an exact replica of my son's guitar. I think this was the most time consuming cake to date. Also thank you to Tonya for all her help.
Greg is a drummer. Tried to replicate his drum exactly, but not quite. Had fun doing it though.
My first attempt at a purse cake. She wanted pink and silver and martini glasses.
