Valentine's Day Cookie Platter For Kids
Sheesh...I think I should have dusted off the crumbs before photographing...In my defense, I did get up at 5am to finish and photograph before delivering. Raspberry glace on vanilla sugar cookies. I absolutely love my new Windsor Clikstix for fondant intials, so very, very easy compared to Tappits because they come with their own ejector.

Pam's Rose Branch Birthday Cake
Rose branch birthday cake I made for my friend Pam. I was largely inspired by Paige Fong's beautiful cake: www.flickr.com/photos/paigefong/4193348522/in/faves-40152... Color is off in the photo, icing was soft pink not beige :). Gumpaste roses and branches, fondant circles

Art Nouveau Floral Lace Wedding Cookies
Made for Cake Central Magazine's April/May wedding issue. Chocolate cookies iced in glace then lustered before piping. Flowers and leaves are white modeling chocolate. Leaves were impressed with lace pattern and then dusted to bring out the design. I love working with modeling chocolate and use it every chance I get, but usually it's on cakes :). http://media.cakecentral.com/files/2011/11/featured-on-cakecentral-badge.png "

Onion Flower Silhouette Cookies
These were kind of an experiment on outlining and flooding small areas with glace icing.... I have tried many things in order to avoid "dimples" since then and think if I did these again, I would have much better luck at avoiding the majority of the dimples. The number one thing that helps (or so it does for me) is using very FRESH icing...seems to make a huge difference. Thank you to all the cookie folk out there that sent their thoughts on how to avoid those pesky dimples!

Bird House Cookies With Flowers
Made for the birdhouse theme spread in the June issue of Cake Central. Flowers and vines are handpainted with food color, dots are piped. There are actually several different colors in the flowers but I couldn't seem to take a photo that showed that very well.... Glace icing on chocolate coconut cookies.

Poppies!
Poppies piped onto color washed glace background with script. Yellow color wash applied over glace with sponge. I need different edible pens, what I had was not fine tip enough for the script look I wanted. Yeah, they look like roses, but they are supposed to be poppies, lol. Glace icing on dark chocolate coconut cookies.

New Plaid Hippos With Color Variations
Not really hippos, but guinea pigs, lol. I was practicing a new plaid and trying on some new color combinations. Not perfectly straight piping, but I did manage to work the kinks out of this plaid and can now do it with confidence. Dark chocolate cookies with Raspberry Glace Icing. Yes, I really like plaids, lol.
