Teacher's Birthday Cake
I made this cake for my daughter's teacher's birthday. She is from Canada, so she is the bear sitting on the Candian Maple leaf with her cake. The school mascot is the penguin, so that's why the penguins are giving her a birthday present. First time with figures and they were a lot of fun. Thanks to aine2 for the tutorials!!!

Shoe Lover's Baby Shower Cake
I made this cake for my friend's baby shower. She's obsessed with shoes - specifically high heels. The shoe boxes/presents were cakes covered with fondant. Gumpaste and fondant high heel and baby shoes. The high heel shoe was actually made to scale. My first time making shoes of any type. I don't think I'll be in a hurry to make another high heel shoe. Also, first time making a cake like this in Switzerland. I had to use a canvas instead of a cake board. :)

Diamond's Are A Girl's Best Friend
I made this cake for my 6 year-old daughter's ballet recital. She was dancing to "Diamond's are a Girl's Best Friend." This cake is far from perfect, but she loved it! It was my first time using Satin Ice. I loved the flavor of it, but found that it dried out really quickly for me. I had trouble with the bow cracking when it was drying. It was also my first time covering a cake board with fondant. I learned a lot from this cake...mostly that I need more practice! :)

First Fondant Covered Cake And Roses!
This is my first time covering a cake with fondant and making any type of fondant roses. The roses on top of the cake were time consuming, but fun to make! 6-inch strawberry cake covered in BC icing and fondant. I made this cake for my younger sister's birthday because she is an amazing pianist! This was #4 of 4 cakes I made for a combined family birthday party. I definitely need practice getting the fondant smooth on the cake. I was happy I was covering most of it up with the keys! :)

First Fondant Bow And Pearls!
This is my first attempt at making a fondant bow and fondant pearls. I covered the bow and pearls with Pearl Dust. 6-inch Devil's food cake with chocolate BC icing. I made this cake for my sister's birthday. This was #3 of 4 cakes I made for a combined family birthday party. I think the bow and pearls were both a little big for this size cake. TFL!

My 3Rd Cake Ever - For Dad's Birthday!
This is my take on the Wilton Birthday Standing Ovation cake (w/o the Silly Feet Cake Stand). My Dad's favorite color is orange, so I changed the colors of the cake for him. 6-inch banana cake covered in BC icing with fondant curlicues. This was #2 of 4 cakes I made for a combined family birthday party. I'm still working on getting my BC icing smooth and I think I should have used a bigger cake plate, but other than that I'm pretty happy with it. TFL! Any suggestions are welcome!

St. Patrick's Day Birthday Cake
This is my second ever cake. I made this 6-inch cake for my brother-in-law for his birthday. His birthday is around St. Patty's Day and he's really into his Irish heritage! White cake was dyed green and covered with white BC and fondant decorations. This was 1 of 4 cakes I made for a combined family birthday party.
