Welcome Home Cake
I decided to put this picture in the Holiday section because, although it was a welcome home cake, it was a 'welcome home to the snow' cake!! That's why the cake is all white. It's actually a chocolate cake with an almond filling and a whipped cream frosting (something light)... obviously covered with white chocolate dipped strawberries, and the sides had slivered almonds for an added crunch!! Later, I filled in the top of the cake with more strawberries... I didn't like it looking so bare!

Cherry Cheesecake Cupcakes
I made a white cupcake batter and mixed it with cherry pie filling, placed it in cupcake holders and topped it with a cheesecake batter. I then decorated with pink frosting mixed with whipped topping to make it lighter as it was already a rich cupcake. I added a chocolate filagree on top and pink sprinkles! They look a bit messy as the frosting wasn't thick enough to stay in place on a hot summer day, but tasted very good!

First Ever Fondant Cake
Well, my first attempt at covering a cake with fondant, and adding fondant detailing. I wanted that 'modern' look with the circles all over. The cake didn't turn out the way I had envisioned in my head, but being my very first fondant cake, I'm slightly pleased. I learned a lot, too!! You can read so many books, but you'll never actually 'learn' until you try it!!!! Delicious yellow cake with chocolate ganache filling, covered in white buttercream to allow the fondant to stick!
