Rose And Ivy Wedding Cake
Made this cake for my cousins wedding. 12, 10, 8 and 6" rounds, each a different flavor. buttercream frosting (very not used to doing those), with scroll pattern. Roses and ivy were all gumpaste, husband airbrushed the colors. top layer was leaning slightly for some reason, so once the roses went on it pulled the whole thing looked like it was going to fall over. spent the wedding convincing everyone it was more optical illusion than anything!

Rainbow And Flowers
I had a friend request this cake for her 30th birthday. She drew me a picture of what she wanted, but I pretty much had to guess at what she had pictured in her mind when she drew it! She liked it though, so I guess I got close :) Did the rainbow with my claygun, extruding long strips of each color and gluing them onto the cake.

Princess Pillow Cake
My first pillow cake.(thanks for the tutorial!!) Covered with MMF, gumpaste and buttercream. The crown was supposed to be just the gumpaste swirls, but they kept falling apart, so I backed it with a gumpaste/fondant backing cut to size. 10" chocolate cake with buttercream frosting.

Preschool Graduation
Volunteered to make a cake for my daughters Montessori Preschool Graduation. After I jumped at the chance to make the cake she told me there would be 140 people there.....YIKES. Stole the idea off CS. Thank you all for your wonderful photos as inspiration. Top layer was raspberry with white mmf, middle was white cake with chocolate mmf (melted in the heat - half the decorations fell right off with the icing) Bottom was Lemon with white mmf. didn't turn out great...wanted to crawl under the table.

Princess Katie
Did this cake for a friends daughter who is in love with all things princess. I made the tiara out of royal icing (pattern from this site - Thanks!) The cake was a pink cake. The frosting was done by piping white and pink frosting into a bag with a basketweave tip and making ribbons around the cake. Then I added two white roses with pink petal dust to add a little more interest. It did look very girly and princessy and she was thrilled ;)

Baby Einstein Caterpillar Cake
I had so much fun with this cake. The cake itself was 6 half round cakes made out of the sports ball pan. They were covered with fondant and sprayed with food coloring. The cake board was about 3 feet long, covered with buttercream and bordered with b.c grass, a red b.c shell border, and a fondant sun.

Ribbons And Roses
Did this cake for a bride who was refered to me over The Knot. Gotta love the Internet! She had seen a similar cake that she wanted me to copy. I was pretty pleased with how close it came for the frosting. The roses were all hand made with small gumpaste pearls added in. The back had a line of hand-made gumpaste pearls running from the top to the bottom.

Baby Shower Present Cake
Didn't know how this was going to turn out, so i completely undercharged for it...oh well - it was the hit of the party and I got three referals from it so I'll chalk it up to marketing. 10" and 8" square cake with 8" single layer for top of present. All toys are made from gumpaste or fondant. The rattle was my pride and joy. I made the halfs seperate and filled it with rice so it really worked. Baby shoe pattern was from this site - Thanks! Blanket had a pearized border to simulate a satin blanket.

2007 Washington Sugar Artist Competition
This was my very first entry into a cake show. I was so proud of it! Even though I didn't win, I liked the cake and was sooo glad I went to the show (besides I was able to meet Bronwyn Webber as well - too cool!) The cake was a dummy. It was covered in mmf with sprayed on food coloring and hand painted background. The cactus around the edge were gumpaste and the ones used as seperators were balls covered with fondant with r.i. spines. The tumble weed was my favorite - it was spun sugar!
