This cake is an original design by kitagrl. She was so generous in sharing how she did it. Everybody loved it!
I made this cake for Nelly413's nephew. It was an overseas order.
I call these fantasy because I haven't made orchids for about 11 years. (Everyone would always ask me for roses.) Sooo...with old instructions and some illustrations, I came up with this! A baker friend put me on the spot because she needed orchids for a wedding cake.
This is a ---quinceañera cake!!! There are 14 little butterflies on the sides. It serves aprox. 160. II cut the big butterfly from a 16" square. Then I went crazy with the Disco Pink glitter!
This set of cakes was taken to a pub. They're both in fondant and it doesn't show, but they're 3" high. Both serve aprox. 25 portions.
The client put the back side of the cake towards the front. It was a little indented. I bought the bow and painted it in my car trunk before delivering the cake. I wanted a bigger bow but mine flattened out. Anyway, the client loved it!
Every Christmas I have to come up with something different for the birthday of a client's wife.
Chocolate cake with a Creme de Cacao liqueur drizzle and MMf.
Every year my grandma wants a bigger cake! The flowers are store bought. The cornelli lace is done with a #3 tip.
Instead of white cornelli lace (punto perdido), I decided to have it the same shade of orange as the roses. I used tip 3.
The eyes gave me a lot of trouble, being so small! My husband said she's cross-eyed!
This is the logo of a division of The Boy Scouts.
The little girl chose her favorite Bratz from the invitation.
I made this transfer on rice paper. The pan I used is the Minnie Mouse pan. I had fun making her!
In Round Wedding Cakes, I have a photo of these cakes plus another in a tier arrangement. After the pics, I took them apart to give as Mother's Day gifts. The pink one was already given away for this pic.
This cake is actually a montage I did out of Mother's Day presents. I put it in my album as a wedding cake. After the pics, I took each cake down again.
Chocolate cake w/ white choco frosting
The favored princess was Cinderella but the little girl wanted all of them! I suggested a "world" for each and the mom agreed.
Last minute touch!
The order for this cake came the night before. It was a rush job!
There's a famous hokku by Basho that describes a frog splashing in a pond. So I did this cake for my poetry class. My instructor went wild!
Her smile gave me trouble! I had to do it a few times.
The Disney Princess pan is so versatile! The toys were given to me to place on the little cake.
Lots of girls don't like pink, but obviously, this one did!
