Nana's Flower Basket...
I made this flower basket cake for a friend's grandmother. This was my first ever basket cake, and my first attempt at realistic looking flowers (as opposed to fantasy flowers). Flowers are all gumpaste, as well as the handle. Everything else is buttercream. Thanks for looking!

Sweet As Can Bee Cupcake Tower...
I made this cupcake tower for a 'sweet as can bee' party theme. I made the cupcake tower out of soup cans and foam board. Top cake is 6" vanilla cake with buttercream icing and fondant accents. The bee and the #2 are fondant/gumpaste. Cupcakes are vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry creme. I made the little bee cupcake toppers out of fondant, and drew the stripes, outline, and faces with black food coloring marker. Thanks for looking!

Bee's, Flowers, And #2 Cookies....
I made these cookies to go along with a cupcake tower....birthday party theme was 'sweet as can bee'. I couldn't find a bee cookie cutter that didn't look like a dragonfly, so I actually hand cut these using a picture I printed online. I also hand cut the #2's because I ordered a cookie cutter and when it came in I didn't like it! The mini flowers were from a cutter. I love how these cookies turned out!

Cupcake Tower For My Daughter's 10Th Birthday
I made this cupcake tower for my daughter's 10th birthday party this past weekend. This was only my second attempt at making a person out of gumpaste, and I am thrilled with the way she came out! I also made the cupcake tower out of foam board and styrofoam blocks. It was a little off-center, but it held up for the party!

My First Topsy Turvy Cake
This was my first attempt at a topsy turvy cake. I worried about this cake for weeks before actually doing it!! Not as tipsy as I would have liked (I actually put the top tier on facing the wrong way...but didn't realize until it was too late to take it off)....but I am still happy with the results. And also happy that it didn't collapse on the 40 minute drive!!

Shoebox Cake For My Best Friends 30Th!!
I made this shoebox/shoe cake for my best friends 30th birthday. She loved it!! My first attempt at a gumpaste high heel. It actually cracked in the middle of the sole because I picked it up before it was completely dry. I tried to fix it by brushing over the crack with melted chocolate. You can see the color difference, but I'm still happy with the results!! Cake is iced in buttercream, with fondant accents. The lid is foamboard covered in fondant.

Spongebob Birthday Cake
I did this cake for my friend's son, who was turning 6. The party was for a girl and boy and was luau themed....but her son wasn't thrilled so she let him have a 'spongebob' luau cake just for him! This was my first time using the paisley pans. Cake is iced in buttercream (thank goodness for the Duff gel colors...I used electric blue!!)....all accents are fondant except for the characters. The pineapple is RKT covered in fondant with fondant leaves. Sand is crushed graham crackers.

Groom's Cake For My Best Friends Wedding
I made this groom's cake for my best friends wedding. The groom proposed on a camping trip while they were making s'mores, and he said 'Will you spend s'more of your life with me??'. The bride wanted that reflected in the cake somehow! Chocolate buttercream icing, fondant fire and logs. The marshmallows are real, dusted with lustre dust to make them look sort of 'roasted'.

My First Purse Cake!
I made this purse for my friends 'last night of freedom' party!! This was my first purse cake. Iced in buttercream, all accents are fondant except the handle which is gumpaste/wire. I didn't dowel this cake since it was so small (an 8'' round) but I should have because it started to lean forward quite a bit on the way there. Learning experience!!

Dora The Explorer
I made this cake for my daughter's 3rd Birthday party this weekend! There were so many great Dora cakes on here, so this is kind of a blend of all the different ideas I found! Palm trees and bridge are gumpaste, flowers and rocks are fondant (the Duff fondant from Michael's....and it tastes GREAT!), the rest is buttercream. Dora, Boots, and Swiper are plastic figurines.

'beatles' Themed Birthday Cake
I made this for my God Daughter's 10th Birthday this past weekend....the Beatles is her favorite band! The figurines were made from a 50/50 fondant-gumpaste mix. Some of the flowers are gumpaste, some are modeling chocolate. The music notes and border are modeling chocolate. The piping is buttercream. This cake was a challenge, but definitely fun!!
