Winter Woods Wedding
This was the first cake I ever entered in a show. It was for the 2011 Washington State Sugar Arts Show. Everything is either fondant or gumpaste with the exception of the little white sprays and I used rice noodles for the "moss/nest". I am really proud of this one. The only molded items are the medalions on the side and the basket weave is from an impression roller. Other than that, everything is hand made.

Spring Garden Display
This is almost completely made of fondant. The only exception is the royal icing used for the vines on the fencing and the centers of some of the flowers. However, the flowers and leaves on the vines are fondant. Everything was either painted or dusted with luster and petal dust or airbrushed.

Pautzke's Salmon Eggs
This was for my Dad who is an avid fisherman. When I was growing up, this was one of his favorite choices for bait. So, instead of making a fish, I made him a cake to catch fish! The "eggs" are piped buttercream then a thin coat of piping gel was spread over them to make it look like a jar. The "lid was airbrushed and piped.

Ruby The Dragon
I have been wanting to make a dragon cake for some time and finally I had a reason to do it! It was a time consuming but fun cake to make. It is completely covered in fondant, with each scale cut from yellow fondant, placed individually then airbrushed red. The muzzle is made out of rice crispy treats but the head is cake. It was for a little girl's birthday so I tried to keep it "cuter" looking. I think this is one of my favorite cakes to date.

Pretty In Pink Princess
So, I tried one of the Wilton doll dress pans and did not like it at all! But, I had a princess cake for a little girl's birthday to do. So, I used a 9", an 8", and a 6" round and carved it myself. My husband said the pan looked like a "bubble dress" so I carved some folds and movement into it, too. Then I covered everything in fondant. I'm really happy with the way it turned out in the end. I look forward to doing another doll cake. I actually enjoy designing the dress almost as much as decorating the cake!

Pink Princess
This is my first attempt a a carved princess cake. They had 30 people to serve and the Wliton pan wouldn't have worked, so I carved the dress out of 10", 9", 8", and 6" rounds. They didn't want alot of fondant work, so only the ribbons, bow, crown, and flowers are fondant. The rest is buttercream.

Tropical Fun
Although this was a cake for a 3 yr old, I didn't want to lable it as a "children's" birthday cake. The plaque in the center, the flowers, the shells and the palm trees are all fondant and either airbrushed or painted. The matching "smash cake" has buttercream flowers and fondant shells. I got the idea of the plaque from another website and then everything else seemed to fall into place.

Neon Whimsy
The bottom tier is a 10" white w/ bavarian cream and the top is an 8" red velvet w/ bavarian cream. After the bride had placed her wedding cake order, she saw a picture of this cake online and fell in love with it. So it was downsized (from 4 tiers to 2) and ordered as a surprise for her bridal shower.

Gnomes At Home
I made this for my mother's birthday. The mushroom house is a white cake with alternating layers of raspberry and bavarian cream filling. It is covered in a white buttercream with a fondant door, window, sign, and dragon fly. All of the other pieces are hand scuplted fondant, with some being colored fondant, some hand painted and some airbrushed.

Bible Cake W/ Matthew 28:2-6
I made this for Easter dinner with my inlaws. It is a Sweet Almomd and Rasperry marble cake with Bavarian Cream filling. The top pages and cover, ribbon, etc... are fondant and the sides are buttercream. The lilies are my first gumpaste flowers. The writing was hand painted.

Lovie Doves
This is one of three cakes I made for a co-worker's wedding. She wanted a small, two tiered cake and two half sheets, each showing something different about thier relationship. The doves are hand sculpted fondant with a fondant swag painted with a pearl glaze. Also, when I made these cakes, I didn't like using the pearl mold I got so I rolled each one by hand. I don't know if I'll do that again! :)

Gardener's Cake
This is actually a dummy cake made as a topper for a cake for my mother. My folks hate to have to cut into the cakes I make, so I had to make a piece that they didn't have to. It is frosted with royal icing and everything else is hand sculpted fondant. The dummy cake measures about 7"x4"x3". The over all height with fondant is about 6" tall. I truthfully don't remember what kind of cake it was but my mother still has the topper.

Harley Davidson Logo
This is a two layer chocolate with bavarian cream filling. The logo is carved out of the top layer and airbrushed with piping and hand cut fondant letter. I don't know if you can tell from this picture, but the trim on the base of the cake is chocolate fondant that I rolled out and then covered with a piece of crumpled parchment, then rolled again. It really gave it a leather look. Then I hand painted it black to give it the biker feel.

Sending Love
The mailbox is a 5 layer vanilla cake w/ bavarian cream filling and vanilla buttercream fondant. All other decorations (teddy bear, box of chocolates, even the string of pearls) are made of fondant or fondant wrapped rice crispy treats. This cake is my first attempt at making my own fondant. Now that I have, I don't think I'll "buy" my fondant anymore!

Cookies And Candies
This is my first fully decorated cake. It is five layers of alternating Red Velvet and White cakes covered in ivory fondant (three layers on the bottom, two on top). The holly leaves are lemon butter cookies and the berries are rum flavored buttercreams (homemade) dipped in red and white candymelts.
