Aly's "last Night Single" Bachelorette Cake
Received an order for a Martini cake. Colors were pink and brown. The ladies' had t-shirts made with the saying, "The girls are out to mingle, for Aly's last night single!" They wanted this on the cake as well. White cake, buttercream icing, ganache drizzle on top, and fondant accents (minus the skewer for the toothpick). TFL~

Ryan's Backyardigans Cake
This is a Backyardigans birthday cake for a little boy, Ryan, who is turning one. The little Pablo cake is his "mess" cake. It was my first chocolate transfer. It was so much fun - now I'm hooked! I woke up early just to make more chocolate transfers for the regular cake - the beach ball and the surf board. I still have to write "Happy 1st Birthday, Ryan" on the cake board. Characters, fence and door are made out of fondant. Everything else is buttercream. TFL~

Preston's 1St Birthday Cake
This cake was for a circus-themed first birthday. Iced in BC and border is BC. Decorations/figures are made out of fondant. You cannot see the animals since they are all around: lion, elephant, tiger and lion. I will post a separate picture for them. Popcorn is marshmallows. Found the instructions for the 'popcorn' in one of the forums - thank you to the CC author (not sure of the name). Thanks for looking

Combination Cake Of Little Mermaid And Elmo
Since my girls' birthdays are only 10 days apart, we decided to combine their parties this year. My 5 yr old wanted The Little Mermaid and my 2 yr old loves Elmo. This is what I came up with. I was very happy with the finished product. This was my first time making figures out of fondant. Flounder is my fav. I stayed up till 6 in the morning just to finish it in time! Everything is edible minus the wire and crystals. I also added a separate 'collage' pic so you could see a close-up. TFL

My First Groom's Cake
This was the groom's cake I did for my parents. My dad wanted German Chocolate. I filled the layers with coconut pecan icing and wanted to ice the entire cake that way, but was paranoid my icing would be too thin and would slide off the cake. Any suggestions? Would love to hear them, because I will be making this cake again. I thought it tasted very good! My parents were happy :) I thought the little 'strawberry couple' was a cute touch! TFL

My First Wedding Cake
My parents celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows. I offered to make their wedding cake (and groom's cake - which is also posted). This was my first attempt at a wedding cake. My string work was very frustrating! I think maybe my BC was not the right consistency, because my string work kept falling as I was piping and later when I added the roses, my string work kept breaking and falling off! Very, very frustrating :( Definitely an experience! TFL

Charabes_Cake.jpg
Here's a birthday cake I made for my friend. The bottom layer is chocolate cake with chocolate whipped cream filling and the top layer is white cake with strawberry buttercream filling. The cake is frosted in buttercream with buttercream designs. The lettering is fondant. The topper is made out of wire with beads and RI flowers. Not sure if I could make that topper again....got the idea online...seems like they are using them to decorate cakes now and/or using them as toppers. TFL

High School Musical
This was for a little girl whose b-day was HSM. Never seen the movie. Guess I need to so I can be "current", huh?! Seems like it is a modern day version of Grease :) I've seen that one! My first time sculpting anything out of fondant - other than a bow and curly ribbons. Stars are chocolate on lollypop sticks. The sticks and the curly wire are the only non-edible things on the cake. Decorated in BC, RI, chocolate and fondant. TFL

Pink & Brown Cupcake Cake/tower
My baking partner and I made this for a party our church threw for our pastor's wife's 40th birthday. We did not have enought time to duplicate the cupcake box/tower by antonio67 so we ended up using styrofoam and covering with pink satin. I put brown ribbon at the bottom. The cupcakes are chocolate and strawberry frosted with ganache and gumpaste flowers. The daisy flowers took me almost 3 hours! We made 10 dozen cupcakes and just 're-stocked' as the cupcakes were taken~
