Davy Jones's Heart

My 4yr old son actually requested this specifically. He wanted Davy Jones's heart with Will Turner's knife sticking out of it! It turned out great! If I had more time, this was 1 of 3 cakes I made for this party, I would have added the veigning and more dripping blood. It is a banana pound cake with small and large marshmallows to shape the arteries and veins and red imbc. I wrapped some plastic wrap around the blade of the knife. You never know if these kids toys will turn out to have lead paint!

John's Football Cake

This one turned out fantastic! Both the field and cake were lemon cakes with imbc. The green and white are mmf and the brown is chocolate mmf. My son thought it was perfect! I used cookie cutters to cut out the letters in his name and the number 9. I liked this one so well I am planning on making one for each of the seniors on my husband's team at the end of the year. Just the football, not the field though.

The Black Pearl-A Closer View

I would have put in more detail, like woodgraining, if I had more time. We had a combined party for all three of our son's birthdays. I made three cakes and just didn't start early enough.

The Black Pearl

Chocolate layer cake with IMBC and chocolate mmf with mmf for the blue water. Two rolos melted together for powder kegs and malted milkballs for cannon balls. I used the mast and sails from my son's Black Pearl ship. This was my first ever attempt at fondant. I definitely learned alot! Now I know to make things like the railings ahead of time and let them stiffen to prevent sagging. My son was thrilled with his cake so it was fine for my first attempt!

Cougar Football Logo Cake

This was a lemon cake on one side, chocolate layer cake on the other with IMBC and the logo MMF.
