Fender Strat Guitar
This was my first ever carved cake. Must admit it was a bit of a challenge, but it's done! It's approx. 1/3 scale to the real thing. The logo on the top is from some metal band the client requested. Learned a lot doing this cake...airbrush techniques need work, but more importantly.....must throw down drop cloths next time I use the airbrush.... my new duraceramic floor grout turned pink! Yikes.....took some doing, but it did wash out thankfully. Cake is standard WASC torted with raspberry cream, satin ice covering etc.....All except strings edible. Ran out of creativity & time to fashion those out of something edible. Thanks for looking!

Priest 50Th Anniversary Cake
carrot cake iced with crusting cream cheese icing. Gumpaste flowers on corners & parchment scroll done with gumpaste and antiqued with gold luster dust. My writing on the word "service" isn't the greatest but at that stage there was no turning back and starting over as I had to deliver the cake this afternoon.

Blk & Whi Polka Dot
Did this one for my nephew's wedding this weekend (my gift to them) . WASC torted with raspberry filling & 2 layers were fudge chocolate cake torted with mocha BC. Cake had to travel 5 hrs. north so was iced , decorated and assembled on site. Cake served 300 ppl. Learned lots from doing this one, thankfully it's a very forgiving pattern. Was fun to make.

Co-Worker Bd Cake
This was just an excuse for me to try a couple of things from this site. Raspberry filled Lemon cake (Amazing LemonCake from a Mix by cakepro) & the stencil technique as displayed on the front page by admin. Thanks to both of you. The recipe is awesome & although the stencil looks a bit rough, it was my first attempt and must admit I spent very little time on it....rush job, but so much potential for that technique..Love it! . University Grad Celebration Cake
My nephew just wrote his last B.Ed exam yesterday. The small class (he was doing his university in French), all got together last night for one last celebration before they go off to mold & shape the young minds in school. This is his favorite cake. Banana cake from the Cake Dr. book, torted with BC , caramel & pecans. Iced with dream whip BC. Scroll , flower & leaves are all gumpaste. This was a surprise for the class. Thanks for looking.

Heart Shaped Groom's Cake
I did this for my niece's wedding 5 hrs. away from where we live. Groom wanted a "tomato soup" cake of all things! This one is iced with coconut flavoured bc & topped with fondant (Toba Garrett's). Frilled bottom. I really liked the verse on the cake. It went over very well.....Thanks for looking

Wedding Cake
I made this for my niece who was getting married 5 hours away from where i live. cake is 14, 12, 10, 8 & 6 " carrot cake. It almost drove me off the deep end literally. She didn't want any commercial cake topper, so I tried my hand at a fondant bow for the first time Pleased with how that turned out. She also collects frogs so I molded two kissing frogs to put on the cake. She was thrilled with the cake and I was thrilled it was over ! Cake iced in coconut flavoured BC. Tasted great!

Priest Anniversary Cake
Chocolate fudge cake torted and filled with cookies and cream. BC icing. Stained glass was done by creating my own "stamp" impression mat. Not happy with the way the hands look and the colour of them. I was experiementing with my new Americolours for the first time and I think I need a bit more work with them LOL.....

Blessings.jpg
This was the last of 3 12 x 18" sheet cakes I made today for our parish priest's 20th anniversary. The third cake was a last minute add on to the order! This one is lemon with blueberry cream filling. Nothing fancy....just something to feed the masses with and to place amongst the other two cakes.

Practice Cake....
Country Pound Cake from CC , torted with raspberry cream & covered with Toba Garrett's fondant. This was a "just because" cake as I was trying out new recipes (cake and fondant). Both are keeper recipes. I absolutely love this fondant. It's soooo nice to work with and the flavour & texture are terrific (much better than mmf). The cake melts in your mouth. Pls. feel free to critique. Must admit I haven't had any time to devote to decorating and it shows....Work always seems to get in the way....

Fondant Wedding Cake
mmf covered tiers. bottom tier is styrofoam dummy. Tops 3 tiers are carrot, french vanilla and irish whiskey fruit cakes. Missing the cake topper on the wedding cake as the bride was using her mil's and didn't have it at the time of setup...darn! bride doll is also missing from the "groom's bed cake" ....was with the bride with the cake topper. I was promised a picture of the finished product by the bride's mother...Just wish I could have taken it myself...oh well...everyone was happy!

Bed Groom's Cake
the bride requested a bed cake with two dolls dressed like the bride and groom on it. supposed to represent the couple exhausted after the big day. Kind of different , but here's what I came up with. The dolls are not on there yet, but will post when I have them. the m.o.b. is sewing the doll's outfits....this is a fruit irish whiskey cake covered in mmf. there's much room for improvement and I now have a whole new appreciation for all the beautiful cakes I see on this site.
