This is for a co-worker who is leaving to be colorado state trooper. The scene is a trooper doing a Field Sobriety Test. Base cake is chocolate WASC cake with ganache filling. Outside frosted/decorated with buttercream. I was going to use fondant to cover the base but i ran out, so I had do buttercream (you can see the white crumb coat underneath the blue ;( Figures are fondant and cars are from walmart.
Fish covered in fondant. Colors hand painted and brushed with silver luster dust.
figures made from fondant w/vegetable gum powder additive. wasn't very happy with the final result but the everyone says they look good. had problems with the fondant shirts cracking and the arms not staying on the bodies.

I made this for mom's elementary school's last day. Their mascot is a Grizzly. But I didn't want to make scary bears. Bears are fondant, grass is buttercream, and the water is blue buttercream w/piping gel on the top. Rocks are edible candies from my local cake specialty store.
Doing a 3D motorcycle (which stands upright) out of fontant and fondant was not easy! It did not come out the way i wanted it to but the birthday boy loved it.
First attempt at a 3D fire truck. The truck it'self is two layers of carrot cale with cream cheese frosting on the inside. Truck covering is fondant and the flames are vanilla buttercream on a half sheet of carrot cake. the cake was very heavy and the fire truck sank!
First try at Darth Vader helmet. I learned a lot of lessons on this one!
