My niece's first birthday cake. Inspired by a cake I saw on Pinterest but I can't find the original source (if you've seen it and recognize it, let me know!) Ombre pink inside, and it's leaning because I'm a bad photographer (it's not really).
Inspiration taken from all the Monster Book cakes on here. Chocolate and white cake, all edible except for glasses, potion bottle and golden snitch. I wanted to do it all edible but ran out of time.

This was for my son's birthday this year. I'm never really happy with my own kid's cakes because I'm usually so rushed doing other things for their parties.

2 tier baby shower cake. Mom wanted her nursery colors and monkeys. Bottom tier says "Welcome Jonathan" although it is hard to see from the pic. Monkey plaque is colorflow. i actually like the cake better without it and have posted that pic too.
I did this cake while visiting my parents. Any time I do a cake somewhere other than home, I have issues with smoothing, stacking, etc. I wasn't happy with the execution of the cake but everyone loved it. Also, this pic is taken from a terrible angle (I think my sister was trying to be "artsy") so it looks like it is leaning. White cake, strawberry filling, fondant dots, gumpaste bow and shoes.
The cake gods were conspiring against me on this one. Please ignore the lumpy buttercream on the bottom layer- ugh. Luckily this one's a freebie.

My sister saw this cake done by cakesbyallison and fell in love. I did my best to duplicate her gorgeous design. The picture makes the top level look weird and twisted- it wasn't! Tiers are 14, 12, 7 and 5. 12 and 7 inch tiers are dummies. All buttercream, real ribbon and roses.
Thanks to all the other wonderful ducky-barrel cakes on here, expecially goonergirl since I essentially ripped her off! 4 2" layers, iced in chocolate bc with piping gel water, Satin Ice Chocolate Fondant slats, MMF bubbles and soap and gp daisies.
White cake, vanilla caramel BC, MMF. Brushed with super pearl and nu silver luster dust. Toys are from the Disney Store. Boot is gumpaste with a sprig of cilantro, and actual laces made of thick thread.
