I wanted to try out cigarellos -- obviously, I should have measured better or made an additional layer but I thought this cake was pretty any way. I made it for a coworker's birthday.
I was trying to do the two toned cake -- someone else did a white/peach combo on this site and it was gorgeous. My first attempt really sucked! And I was in a hurry so I didn't crumb coat the cake... one of many mistakes. Oh well, it didn't stop any one from eating it!
This is one of the first cakes I ever made. The flowers are royal icing (much easier to work with than buttercream but not nearly as tasty).
Cake was for a friend who likes frogs. Frog was free hand. I wish I had known about the FBCT before doing this cake... it would have come in handy!
I didn't feel like doing the rainbow so I did a butterfly pattern transfer instead.
This is the first large cake I've ever made. It was for the director of our department at work. Her favorite color is orange. She really liked it and I hope you do too!
