Co Worker B'day Cake
cake for my co-workers birthday. She wanted a "fun" cake, so its a "funfetti" doctored cake w/ bavarian creme filling, MMF cover w/ buttercream roses. She wanted blue and pink on the cake, hence the bow beneath the flower spray. I made the spray too big, though -- I ran out of room and couldn't put Nikki's name on the cake itself! Oopps!!

Star Wars 3 Cake For Erik
_ChristyB_'s cake inspired this one! But I knew there was no way I could pull off a fondant Vader! ;) 9" on bottom is funfetti doctored cake w/ chocolate pudding, 6" top is chocolate cake w/ vanilla pudding. Image was printed out and laminated ((I have to get myself one of those edible image machines!!))

Niece's Little Pony Castle
Made for my niece's 6th birthday. Castle is a 3 layer 8" devils' food cake square base w/ chocolate pudding and a 4 layer 6" butter yellow cake w/ bavarian creme filling. Turrets are cake cone bottoms and sugar cone tops, filled with Hershey kisses, covered in fondant and cake sparkles. Castle is covered in MMF, with BC accents. In hindsight, I would have changed a few things, but the birthday girl liked it, so I guess that's all that matters.

Snow Storm!!
This is my first entry into a contest, so I hope it is received well. Made for a family Holiday party. Top layer white cake w/ apricot filling, bottom layer white cake w/ strawberry filling, MMF cover and snowmen, BC snowflakes. MA had just been hit w/ the first major snowfall of the season the night before this party, so i changed the cake theme & decorated till 2:30 am.

Messed Up Cupcake Cake
This is one to learn from .... do the writing before placing the roses, balance things out better, and when it starts to go bad - QUIT while you're ahead!! I am so disappointed in this one. A b'day cake for a friends daughter, she loved it, but I am just not happy with it at all. However - others seemed to like it and said they may contact me for future business. Go figure -- i think this is my worst one yet!

Course 3 Finale Cake
Final cake for my Wilton Course 3. Top layer: French Vanilla cake w/ lemon fill, bottom: chocolate cake w/ cherry fill & butter cake w/ lemon fill. I made mistakes on this cake -- I'm not 100% satisfied with it. But the MMF came out terrific on the layers. I neeed to work on my fondant flowers, but for a first try, I guess they are okay.

B'day Cake For Juliette Low - Founder Of The Girl Scouts
DD's Brownie Troop is celebrating the birthday of Juliette Low, founder of the Girl Scouts tomorrow (her b'day is 10/31). Cupcake cake with BCT of the GS emblem. Tomorrow, before i drop it off, I will use black gel to write the words "GIRL SCOUTS" on the bottom of the BCT. I'm afraid if I do it now, it will run!!

Course 3 Fondant Cake W/ Bow
This is my attempt at a fondant bow for my Course 3 cake. I didn't like the idea of the little fondant balls in the book, so made the leaves instead. I didn't have enough time for the bow to dry properly, so its drooping a little bit, but I think i have the general idea ... :)

First Attempt At Mmf
This is my practice cake for Course III. Made w/ MMF, I made the mistake of placing the 8" cake on a 10" board, which made it very difficult to get the MMF to hang right off the sides and made it very difficult to cut correctly on the bottom. So to hide the goofs in the cutting of the excess, i made a MMF braid. I also see that I need to find a way to get the cakes to blend together better. I can't use more frosting -- as it was, it was already coming out the bottom!!!

Welcome To Your New Home Cake
This is what a BCT looks like when you're out of time and it doesn't freeze right - so when you take it out to place it on the cake, it melts!! But hey -- this was my first cake back after an almost 2 year break! Not too bad, I'd say!! ;) And believe it or not -- I made this for my ex-husband and his wife as they bought their first home.

Happy Holidays Cake
White cake made with Diet Coke (to lower calories) and decorated in a multi holiday theme (poinsettias for Christmas, blue snowflakes to represent Hannukah). This cake was made for a gathering of gals on Weight Watchers -- seriously! I taught myself how to make the poinsettias as i haven't yet taken Course 3!!

My First Cake Ever!
First decorated cake I ever made (using the tips and such. I had done the whole "betty crocker messy cake" thing before). Winnie The Pooh pan for my niece's birthday. Just a plain white cake w/ wilton packaged decorating icing. Man is that stuff stiff! I thought i'd break my wrists by the time I was done!! :)

Two Retirement Personal Cakes
two oval cakes for two retiring members of the local department of Education. She was a gardener, he liked music. These were made for the retirees to take home to their families after the party (the large cake that looks llke a chalkboard w/ LOTS of writing on it was the party cake)

Course I Final Cake
Course I final cake -- daughter chose the colors (again). Finally mastered the roses, though had trouble with the ribbon. There is a "patch fix" on the top where i had to take it all off and refrost it. Why my buttercream was a different shade of white is beyond me! And I wish I could make better sweet peas!! :)

Course 2 Garden Cake
Course 2 Garden cake, color flow butterflies and fence, royal flowers (including a carnation, which wasn't taught in class!) My Daughter chose the colors, hence the blue basketweave, but I am very pleased with how it all came out. The vines on the fence were the instructors idea -- i think it looks awesome.
