Reds And Yankees Birthday Cakes
My son LOVES the Yankees and requested his cake look like the Yankee jersey. Then he decided since his little league team is the Reds could he have a cake like his jersey. Hence, two cakes for my now 11 year old son. Reds cake is yellow cake - icing is chocolate decorator's buttercream. The Yankees is chocolate cake - iced with Crusting buttercream (viva method)< love this icing!! Both icings are from this site.

Softball T-Shirt
This was done for a friend's daughter. Wasn't sure I could get true colors out of dyeing chocolate frosting so I just used the frosting for the t-shirt color and dyed a little bit of the rest for the name and number. It's yellow cake with chocolate mousse filling and chocolate buttercream frosting. I did black out the name on the back of the cake for the picture...no one needs to know the full name. Did a little better on my smoothing technique, but still have a long way to go!!

Flip Flops For 13Th Birthday
These flip flops were made for a 13th birthday. They were a BIG hit at the party, everyone loved the cakes. When I went to pick up my daughter from the party there were only two small pieces left. YEAH!! I felt so good. Mind you there were about 15 to 20 people there, they said everyone kept coming back for seconds and thirds. Two 10x15 cakes, chocolate and yellow. All the Inspiration and a lot of copying came from Cambo. I still have to work on smoothing techniques.

Snow White
My Niece has always been called Snow White by her uncle (my brother) and since he couldn't be here to share her special day with her - I decided to honor him to (because she Loves him so much) she was thrilled. Both are FBCT on buttercream frosting, with of course chocolate mousse filling - her absolute favorite.

Boogie Board
buttercream icing, chocolate cake with whipped cream chocolate pudding filling. My daughter's 12th birthday cake...had a little trouble with getting the frosting smooth, forgot to add meringue to get a crusting buttercream. My dd didn't care she was happy to spend 10 hours at the beach with her friends celebrating her birthday. LOL, we almost forgot to cut the cake because we were having so much fun! Inspiration comes from cambo.

Mom's Birthday Cake
Chocolate cake with buttercream icing...did not have all the piping that I wanted (I ended up in emergency room) so less than one hour to decorate both cakes and head to family party. Thank the Lord that (I'm okay) and that I was able to ice it prior to heading to the hospital. one hour is not a lot of time when you're still new to decorating. Thanks for looking.

Cell Phones
Cell phones for a young pre-teen who is eager to get one now that she is "old" enough. She thought the cakes were cool. I used a 7" square pan cut in half and then slightly carved the two halves. I had fun trying to accomplish this one. It's simple but effective. Again, still have to practice on my writing.

Pikachu
Okay, I'm tired of Pokemon cakes. All my sons' friends like Pokemon, so this is all they want! I disliked this character pan, was hard to work with. I know the young boy who will get his tomorrow will love it though! He just loves Pikachu. No more boy birthdays until next February, yeah! Thanks for looking. Have a wonderful day!

I Shall Call You Ughly And You Shall Be My Ughly!
Okay this is horrible! This is what happens when you have no idea what to do with a cake...plus your given a horrible color scheme to work with. PLEASE SAVE ME THE EMBARRASSMENT -- DO NOT LEAVE ANY COMMENTS. I know how bad it is. Just thought if I didn't own up to it, I can't get better. Take the good with the bad, and boy is this BAD!

Flag / Eagle Cake For 4H Of July
Buttercream Frosting with chocolate whipped cream filling. My son "designed" the cake and I put it together. We used his school mascot, good thing it's an eagle, worked out great. I did the piping gel method to put the eagle on the cake. Thanks for looking! Have a wonderful day.

Pokemon Birthday Cake
Two Pokemon cakes done for a neighbor's son. Not really happy with how they turned out, ran into problems every step of the way. Large cake is yellow with buttercream frosting and strawberry whipped cream filling. Smaller cake is chocolate with buttercream and chocolate whipped cream filling. Everyone loved the way they tasted and the kids loved the Pokemon on the cake.

Little League Baseball Party
These are the cakes I did for my boys end of the season party. Both are buttercream frosting and the "Twins" is fbct. I was surprised I was able to get the blue dark enough to make it look like the jerseys they wore during the season. The only thing not on the "Twins" jersey was -Minnesota- I couldn't quite get it right, so I left it off.

Pokemon Birthday Cake
Finished cake for my 8 year old's birthday party. He helped with the writing on the cake and placing the FBCT's where he wanted them. He was very happy with his cool pokemon cake. Thanks to Sheila F. and mykidsarekilingme for the inspiration - their photos made me believe I could do this.

Pokemon Fbct - Only Practice
This is my first FBCT. I have a lot to work on, (that's putting it nicely) but I was happy that it actually just turned out! I did this just for practice. My son wants a Pokemon cake for his b-day in May. It was a huge undertaking, for a practice run. Need lots of tips on how to "smooth out the design" so I don't have the lines. I forgot to "push" it into the icing, that's why you can see the border around it, also didn't think about putting a border around the fbct. Oh well, live and learn.
