Lindsey Margaret
I made this for my daughter Lindsey's second birthday (I can't believe she's two... *sniff*). I used the directions posted by the talented "BKeith" and they were fantastic. Although I don't have his expertise, I was pleased with how it turned out. I used rainbow and french vanilla cakes, with marshmallow fondant (thanks "Ntertaynme - Cheryl"!). Dad...
My dad is so musical and he shares his love for music with my little girl. He plays any instrument going and has made his own fiddle, named after my Lindsey Margaret... This cake is for his birthday party this afternoon. The cake has edible images on the side, with piano keys around the top made from fondant. The picture burst on the top is not edible - just for looks. It is a pistachio cake with almond icing. Thanks for looking! - Tami -

Liette
This is my first *character* cake - I have a lot of room to grow! lol.... This was for a co-worker's ten year old daughter's birthday. She is in love with Bratz - being a new mom, I hadn't even heard of them. I have a lot of room to grow there too! lol... The cake is french vanilla iced in cherry buttercream, with fondant stars, character and finishing balls. I used a picture I downloaded from the net for the inspiration for the doll. Okay. This is definitely my fav cake yet - it was sooo FUN to do! I had a blast making the ladybugs - who would have thought bugs were so much fun? It's hard to see in the picture, but each ladybug had tracks from where she had been on the cake, looping around the flowers and through the grass. Thanks for looking! - Tami -

Leighanne
I have decided to start naming my cakes after the people they are made for, so meet Leighanne. :) This is a confetti cake with cherry icing and fondant flowers. I am frustrated with the tiny holes in my buttercream - I smoothed with parchment paper but I'm just not sure what's causing the bubbles/holes. Maybe I'll post on the forum with pics for some great advice... Thanks for looking! - Tami -

Apple Blossoms
I made this cake for my mom to take to her aunt, who is turning 95 tomorrow. I had originally planned for pansies, but they didn't turn out like I wanted so I opted for apple blossoms. I live in *apple country*, so I thought it would be fitting... ;0) It's a four-layer (two torted cakes) french vanilla cake with peppermint icing and fondant. Thanks for looking! - Tami -

Flutterbies In The Grass
I had a hard time calling these little guys 'butterflies', so I thought 'flutterbies' was much more appropriate.... I have been wanting to try individual blades of grass for a while - I was surprised at how little time they took. I'll do them again, but I think I'd like to try 3-D butterflies flying off the cake next time. There are two flutterbies, one on each side of the cake. The cake is chocolate with mint buttercream and fondant. Thanks for looking! - Tami -

Bubble Gummy Yummy
I made this cake for a staff party we attended this weekend. It was a barbeque and really didn't call for a four-tier cake but I couldn't resist the opportunity to make another cake! I used the MMF recipe I found in the article section of Cake Central - it is soooo easy to make and work with. I will never buy fondant again! The cake was Betty Crocker's Rainbow mix, modified to make it dense and moist (and yummy! lol..). The icing is buttercream and MMF, both flavored with peppermint. - Tami -

Daisy Fields
This is my favorite cake yet! I was thinking about doing a cake covered in daisies and it's all I had hoped it would be. It took a long time to make the daisies - my sister and I sat at the kitchen table with coffee and rolled fondant for hours! This is a three layer cake (french vanilla, pistachio, french vanilla) with peppermint buttercream icing and rolled fondant (daisies). Thanks for looking! - Tami -

Blue Daisies
I decorated this cake today - it was a test cake to see what would happen with a layer cake without supports (dowels/posts). It was okay, but I wouldn't want to trust the weight of it on a cake that was going out. This was my first try at fondant over buttercream - as you can see from the picture, I started with the green layer and got progressively better (less tuckers at the bottom). I still have plenty of room to get better! Thanks for looking! - Tami -
