For all ur experts out there, how long can u freeze an uniced cake?

I have just finished baking a football shape chocolate cake and the mom just phoned to say they wont need a cake for the party after all icon_mad.gif I normally wait for the deposit to be paid, but have such a lot of baking to do for this weekend I thought I would get a head start icon_sad.gif
So hopefully someone else will order a football cake soon icon_biggrin.gif

My understanding is they can be frozen for up to 6 months, but I've not had one in the freezer that long. Boonenati and I have been talking about doing an experiement to see how cakes defrost over different periods of time. I'll make sure I let everyone here know the results if we can stop talking long enough to try it icon_wink.gif
