I need some help. I never have made a fondant dog before and I have a request to make two of them the person buying cake has chocolate labs for dogs and wants them on cake. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have no idea of even how to make one. Any direction or advise would be super. Thanks in advance for all the help. Love everyone here.
have you tried doing a search. How big is the cake? Ace of Cakes did one a while back but he had plywood going and so on. A lot of his dog was made of rice krispie treats also. Not sure if that helps or if I just confused you more...sorry.

I did try to search and did not come up with anything. The dogs are only going to be very little on top of cake. probably about 2 or 3 inches long. nothing big. I will try to search again. Otherwise I am just going to tell her that I can not do this as I don't know how
Not sure if this helps but I believe I've seen a "sculpty" mold for dogs at Michaels or AC Moore. It may work for a lab. Good luck!

Thanks everyone. I think I will try the one on the site with debbie brown. I love this site. Always so helpful. Thanks again. I feel better now.
Eliza that is great. Thank you so much for the directions on how to. I could not find it when I did search. You are great. Thank you again everyone.

Hi Amy,
Here are some pics of dogs I've made if you need other ideas. One is a chinese crested, the other a pit bull.
The way I make it is similar to the instructions in that photo from CC. Plus I use wire for support.
I would suggest using modelling paste (fondant:gumpaste 50:50) instead of fondant, as it dries firmer.
Happy modelling and show us your finished doggies!
redred that is adorable. I hope I can make mine as cute. Thanks for the suggestion on the fondant.
