Anyone here ever make a corvette cake? Or does anyone have any great ideas for one? The customer is interested in having a '65 corvette cake. Anyone with pics or a bright idea to share....I'm so not a car person...but I like a challenge.

Have you ever heard of Race Cakes? They sell kits to make 3D race cars. The kit comes with a fantastic race car pan (same quality as Wilton and a really nice shape) that I think might work for a Corvette. I'm not sure if they sell the pan alone but I have seen both the pans and the kits on ebay.

I don't have any ideas - yet. My dad is a HUGE, and I mean HUGE Corvette guy! I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to do one for his birthday!!!

Thanks for the idea Lisa but it's also kinda a short notice cake like I need to start baking shortly but it's a good friend who called last night. I thought about doing a BCT but I don't want it to look to cartoonish. I don't have edible image and I don't think I can carve a car with the lines a corvette has and make it look equal on both sides. I think I
will call her back and tell her about BCT and see what she thinks. Thanks for the help.
