I just baked a cake for the first time in this pan, and the edges got overly brown while the middle is almost not cooked enough. Does anyone have this problem or any hints for this pan?
On almost all my character or 3D pans I use a flower nail as a core, and I attach the well soaked baking bands to the pan with bulldog clips. Some of the newer pans are so thin they let the cake outsides cook much faster than the centers. Janice
..some people call them butterfly clips. You know those metal clips that you use to hold a lot of papers together, when a staple is to small? Hope that makes sense!
Thanks, I need to bake a 3-d cruiser today, so i will be using those clips. Has anyone ever used cut up towels instead of the baking strips?
I've read a few posts where a baker was using rolled paper towels to wrap their cakes and seemed satisfied with the results.
My biggest concern would be that the towels would dry out and stand a chance of catching fire, but nobody else has expressed this concern or had this experience. Janice
