Just want to bump this to be sure everyone sees it. Does anyone have any ideas on when we should have the DOS? I was thinking in Feb.

What is DOS? And congratulations on your weight loss. I lost over 100 lbs about 5 years ago and have kept it off, so far. Be very proud of your accomplishments and don't stop, it is life altering!!

Day of Sharing. Thank you how did you lose weight. I have to admit I checked my weight today and I have gained 2lbs. I have been working out at Golds Gym and I guess I am doing something wrong. The weight I lost was from walking on the treadmill then I joined the gym and started using the other equipment and i have gained 2 lbs. maybe i should just go back to using the treadmill.

First off..I was wondering that DOS is also..now I see it's Day of Sharing..but what is it?? Is there another thread that gives more details on the event??

Second alrac don't get discouraged. Try to remember weight loss isn't totally about the numbers. Once you start exercising if you are doing anything with weights you will start to build muscle mass which maybe show on the scales as an increase in weight. Good luck & keep up the good work icon_smile.gif

Alracntna,

I joined E-Diets.com in May of 2000. I weighed 250
lbs. I had tried every diet under the sun and could never stick to anything for very long...I think my grandmother's death from heart attack and my father's having heart disease finally scared me into making a life change. Anyway, I did their low fat, low cal plan and that is all I did for about the first six months. Then, I got off my butt and started walking for 45 mins, 6 days a week. Not fast, just walking and it just kept coming off.. I didn't let myself become discouraged because I went through several plateaus, just stuck to it and finally realized somewhere in my mind that fast food was out. I do have a hamburger now and then, but it is a real treat. I am now 142, give or take a couple of pounds and I still try to watch what I'm eating every day.

Don't be discouraged by a little gain because we all have a little fluctuation at times. It will come off if you keep plugging along. I wish you all best wishes in your struggle. Just a couple of things that really motivated me. First, when I could finally cross my LEGS!!! It was the most wonderful thing you can imagine. Two, I am a shopaholic and I went thru about 4 wardrobes during my weight lose.
The resale shop loved me. And third, but most importantly, it gave me so much more confidence in myself and raised my self esteem so much. Having been fat all my life I was always very self concious. It's kinda weird, but losing the weight really was a freeing experience....GoodLuck, you can do it. If you need encouragement, please feel free to contact me, I'm rooting for all the ladies on this site who are losing wieght.

Thank you so much for your words of encouragement. I do love to hear them, or read them, I have not always been this big it happened about 8 years ago when i got the depo shot. anyway it is a long story and this story ends with ...and she stepped on the scale and it said 135lbs.

anyway DOS is when we get together in one place and we "teach" something. ex: I know how to do FBT and somone who is comeing may not so I will do a FBT step by step right there in front of everyone. You can go and not show anything. you dont have to teach something, but the more things we have to watch the more fun we all have.

I live in Bryan/college station about 2 hours North of Houston and anyone who wants to come and dosent mine a drive may it be long or short is more than welcome i just need to know in advance so that i will know if there is going to be enough food. My DH is going to rent a small hall here in town for us so we have plenty of space and tables and then if we each bring a dish of some sort like finger sandwiches or veggi tray something like that we should have plenty of food.

I hope i have given enough information but if not let me know. i am thinking feb is going to be a good month to reschedule it to. i need opinions.
