Does anyone have a good chocolate cake recipe that is from scratch, but tastes similar to the boxed mixes???
I'd like to try my hand at one, but don't know which recipe to try.
Thanks!

I have had no luck in that area with chocolate cake. So I tried the cake mix and love it. I have a recipe for Fudgy chocolate cake, which is much denser and I love that. If you would like that I will find it tonight.

Ladycakes has wonderful recipes. Try there.

There is a recipe on the back of the Hershey's Powdered Cocoa container that is very good!

I live in Canada, and I've never seen Hershey's brand cocoa. I use Fry's cocoa. Would you mind posting that or sending it by PM to me??

I'd really appreciate it. I just tried one this afternoon. It was good, but not the type of chocolate cake people would want if they ordered a birthday cake!

Thanks!
