In your opinion, what is the best online resource for learning different piping techniques? I thought about buying the craftsy class "Modern Piping" or "Piping Buttercream Borders", but not sure which would actually be the most beneficial. And do either of these cover how to give a cake a lace look? I think lace cakes are so beautiful, but I dont even know where to start to make one. TIA :)

Costumeczar has a bunch of unbiased reviews on her blog, she may have done one for those you were looking at: http://acaketorememberva.blogspot.com.es/search/label/Craftsy

Lace cakes in this day and age are mainly done using mats or moulds, it is very rare to see a hand piped one.

AKazita: it worked that time. Cool video, thanks so much!! So last night based on Costumeczar's reviews, I chose Piping Buttercream Borders, as well as the class on Lace cakes. I know most people use a mold now, but I hate to admit that I am one of those bakers who skipped over learning a lot of the buttercream piping techniques and learned mostly fondant, and now I really want to gain that skill set too. I can pipe some, but I definitely could be better and could stand to learn more. There is something so classic about a hand piped cake...so maybe I can get a little better with the video class and lots of practice. Wish me luck, y'all! ;) Thanks for eveyone's help! I will post back with my thoughts on both classes. :)
