Can You Use A Paper Straw In A Cake Pop?

I need to use a black stick for a cake pop, and I was wondering if a paper straw would work. I'm a little nervous that if you bite into the cake pop, the straw will be soggy and you'll end up eating it
AI wouldn't use a paper straw, definitely.
I can get black lollipop sticks here (Australia), but if you can't, could you get a white stick and airbrush/paint/colour it with edible colours? I'm guessing you're not doing a thousand cake pops here, but maybe you are!
Just did a quick search, you can easily buy black lollipop sticks.
ACould you use whatever stick you usually use, or even a plain skewer, and put the straw around that stick and only insert it into the chocolate covering enough to make it glue into place? You would have to hace both stick and straw cut to the right length so no one knows the difference.
I think the lollipop stick I use is too thin to look like Thor's hammer handle. Not making a thousand- probably around 30! I could do the straw into the chocolate but then I'd have to make sure the sticks are the same length once it's done and that's gonna be annoying :/
