I bought the Paisley Wilton Pans. Recently I read they were difficult to tort and to stack. My vision for my wedding cake is to have them separated, but I can't find any materials for doing it. I called Wilton asking about the plastic separators and supports but they don't make them. I was thinking I could use a few cake boards cut and put together to hold the cake but have never done that before. Most of the carved cakes I've done were stacked together not separated. 

I'm doing my own cake and want to transport it to the venue in pieces, not stacked, and assemble when I get there. Although I'm getting married at the hotel where the reception is being held, I can't get in there until 1 and the wedding is at 4. Luckily for me it's only a mile away and my wedding party will all be at the hotel to assist. 

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

make a set with foam core board and glue on the pillars unless you want foam separations made smaller than the paisley cakes but the same shape -- get a foam cutter or dallas foam would make it for you --

Yes, I have experience. Only one failure with a cake that split in the middle as I was transporting it 3 states away. I have a few ideas that I'm thinking about but it's basically going to be all buttercream with a cascading rose vine design, unless I do the pillars, then I'll do a simpler design. All the roses will be made a head of time so it's just baking and assembling as necessary.
