AHello,

Im planning to go to a wedding fair and i'd like to create several fake cakes. I live in Spain so it's very humid here. If i cover my cakes with fondant they very soon get sticky if i dont keep them in a fridge or air conditioned room. I wondered if there's any other way to do display cakes what looks like fondant but last longer on a dummy? Thank you for any help in advance!

ARoyal icing can be used, but it is a pain to get it smooth on a Styrofoam dummies. I've read that you can use gumpaste in place of fondant. Even a mix of fondant with gumpaste might just hold up in the heat there. I play with my cake dummies to just to experiment new cake techniques or a design I have in mind. This info has been in other forums on here. Keep looking! I hope all turns out well.
