New to this site and fairly new to baking large cake volumes, Im in the UK and need I am trying to figure out whats the best way to fill a 8" round cake tin thats 3" deep with sponge recipe, with a view to do a 2 tier cake.
Do you fill cake tin half full or 3/4 full ? I tried do do a 9"" square the other day and simply didn't fill enough, I would like to be able to cut in half and fill then cover with fondant.
