I'm thinking of getting an airbrush gun for my cakes. Does anyone have a suggestion of which one to buy?

I have a Paasche.  like it.

I have had an Aztek, a Badger and now use a Grex.  I never liked the Aztek, the Badger did a great job, but I really love the Grex.

AHave a Paasche and a Grex. Really liked both of them. I don't do any really detail work with them though. Just coating.

There are so many different styles and sizes of airbrushes - it can be as confusing as saying "what car should I buy?". The answer is... it depends on what you need the equipment to do.

It's important to establish realistic expectations of what you expect out of the airbrush system vs what the system is engineered to do.

So.... what to you want to do? Just accent flowers... or paint 3 tiers gold? Smaller equipment can only do details and would take for-ev-er to do big coverage (if at all) while larger units can do both but can cost more.

AIn my very humble opinion it's better to save and buy the better ones because you have the options to go back and forth. I made a bit of an investment with mine and I try to incorporate it in design as much as possible. It saves me time as I don't necessarily have to knead color into every single piece of fondant

I do agree about saving your money for a good one.  I bought a cheap one off ebay to start with.  I'm pretty useless at airbrushing but my quality (?) has improved out of sight since I upgraded to a good one.  I now feel that I have some control over what I am doing, and where the spray is going, which the cheaper one did not give me.

I have a Passche that I got at Hobby Lobby with a 40% coupon.  I have used it a few times- I really need to work more with it.  I want to decorate cookies with it.
