Water Spots On Silver Spray Painted Cake
Decorating By kyliecake Updated 22 Feb 2014 , 12:00pm by kyliecake
hi there,
my son decided to be funny (not) and flick water at me. but it also got on my cake that i had only sprayed an hour beforehand with silver paint. it has left about 6 spots. i tried to spray over gently, but i can still see them. i can hide them a bit with spaghetti (i am making another pot of spaghetti and meatballs), but not sure if i can hide them all. to make matters worse, i am entering the cake in a show in two days!!!!!!!
i should mention that the spots are on painted modelling chocolate.
hope you have some ideas people.
thanks
ANobody know how to fix that?!? :(((( ... I had the same problem before and was hoping to figure out how to deal with it..
AI've never been able to successfully fix that. I have however fixed the situation. Since this is a pot, it needs a bit of dimension. When I made my Lowcountry boil pot, I wet my hands with a bit of vodka or water and rub gently. That will make it smoothable.
I'm sure this isn't making sense. The slight variation in color is a good thing especially compared to the obvious spots if you leave it.
update..... i couldn't really fix the water spots, so i hid the marks as best i could. ultimately the cake won first prize at the country show for novelty cake so the judges must not have noticed them!
