AI am very hesitent to put my mobile number on my business cards. I have a landline I never use and was thinking about using that number. All my old cards have my mobile and now I'm getting calls all the time I set my voicemail up to be business. The issue is now I'm getting orders while I'm at work. I find people won't leave a message they continue to call until I answer. I tried google voice but the few people I had test it for me hated it!! Also I miss calls that way. Any tips? I could use both mobile and landline. Do any of you use google voice?

The other issue I find is taking order on the go. It's hard especially when I'm at work or out and about. What do you do in that situations?

I like Google Voice.  Sometimes it takes people a couple of calls to get how to use it.  I have that number listed on my website with the note "Voicemails only."  I also keep my cell phone on silent ALL the time.  People who know me, know to text.  I don't do phone.

I get calls during the day as well.  I teach kindergarten and there is no way I can take calls while teaching.   Like Leah, my phone is on mute.  I use Google Voice and my message goes something like this (I think).   "Thank you for calling Brenda Bakes.  I cannot come to the phone right now, but please leave a detailed message and I will return your call within 24 hours.  You may also contact me through email at blah @ blah blah.  Please keep in mind that two weeks notice is required for all custom cake orders.  Thank you for calling and have a great day."

If they leave a message, they get a return call.  If not, there is not much I can do about it.
