Hi everyone!

I'm making the cake above for my friend's wedding!  I've never done a "rough" texture on a cake before.  Do you just do this with the icing spatula?  Is there an easy way to do this or do you just load the cake up with icing and have some fun?  :-)

Thanks!!

AYes. Don't try to smooth it, leave it rough and swirly.

You can "swoop" the icing around with the back of a spoon.

AI love when I have customers say they want a rough look in their cake! Takes so much less time. Something I have found that helps me when doing a tiered cake, go ahead and tier it and then ice already together.

Thank you!  I was wondering if I should do it separate or together.  I guess I'll go ahead and do it together!  :-)
