I have a question about buttercream icing. I was making some for some cupcakes and used this recipe and to me it was too sweet. Any suggestions? The one i make to me is too sweet but i used 8 oz of butter to 3 cups of sugar and 2-3 tbsp of milk or cream and vanilla. Is there anyway to just tone it down just a bit. Also i do know its suppose to be sweet. Thanks for your help!

If i halved my recipe it would be the same and I get comments all the time about how they love how it isn't overly sweet. Did you add any salt? I use salted butter and it helps cut the sweetness. I also add 1 tsp or 2 of lemon juice.
