Hi,

I haven't used it yet, but...I already iced my cake..and didn't realize I went over the height of the pillars by 1inch. If you end up with cakes over 4 in high and want to use the sps what do you do? (have 4 in legs). Should I just skip the sps and use dowels this time, or can I stick a poly dowel in the pillar and trim to height???

I love SPS, but that is the one frustrating thing, your cake has to be exactly 4 inches (within a quarter inch or so).  I've had this happen a couple times, and I don't know what others do, but I just cut 4 wooden dowels longer and insert them in the plastic pillars.  So you'll have like an inch of wooden dowel showing (if you could see through the cake) at the bottom of the pillar. 

AMy cakes are almost 4 1/4" sobinget the 4 1/2" & trim just to be safe. I also have some 5" just in case. Easier to cut off than to try to add.
