AHi, im cathy from Philippines but my location right now is Italy... Love Cakes so much! Im imagining my self having a cake business in Phil. but got no idea where to start and how to start it... Im earning 750euro a month, half is for my "NEEDS" and the other half is for my "WANTS" Questions: Where do i need to start to have this small cake business i want? Do i need to have a place first or equipments? What do i need to know about the business? What are the things that i need to buy? What are the maintenance? The risk? List of equipment and what brand is the best to buy? Is it better to buy here in Italy or just buy in Philippines?

Hope you can help me, please? D:

If you can and there are classes available in  your area..I would take some classes -maybe from visiting cake artists? That would give you a great idea if you really are interested in continuing- and also gauge your talent/possible skill level.

I think the first starting point is actual baking. Can you bake? I would start there and start to perfect your recipes. To me, that is the foundation.

the list of supplies/materials required for cake decorating can be endless and expensive!! you can try ebay to get better deals on used equipment/tools..but honestly I would try to take a class first (after getting your baking down).  Good luck!!

if there aren't any local classes available..you can check out youtube, books ,or speciality DVDs or even better probably- craftsy (as someone already mentioned)- they have quite  a few classes...try one out and then do that cake as a project- or do the same from a book. It takes a lot of practice- as most things do in life like this, but it's possible. In a cake decorating book, they usually outline what tools you'll need, etc.
