AHello fellow bakers, I was wondering what ingredients do I need to avoid in a cake or cupcake recipe? And in decorations like food coloring and fondant. All my cake are baked from scratch, I don't use cake mixes. Thank you :)
ATo make nut-free products, you'll need to avoid ingredients containing nuts and any ingredients that may be cross-contaminated with nuts (if the manufacturer makes other products containing nuts you may have to contact them to see if you are comfortable with their cleaning processes).
If you have used nuts in your kitchen before you also need to carefully clean and sanitize all non-porous surfaces and utensils. Porous surfaces and utensils should be considered permanently contaminated and should not be used.
