Some shops are ridiculously high but you should get a pretty good idea of a competative price for your area. The average price in my area for a classic size iced cupcake starts around $2.95

When I gave her a price for cake at $2.50 per serving, she decided she wanted all cupcakes, which I was going to do for $1.25 each (undecorated). Now she wants to know if there is an extra charge to decorate them. Duh I'll call around to area bakeries tomorrow.People don't know what is involved in making edible decorations.

You'll also want to figure out how much you will be spending in ingredients, and how long the complete order will take you (either decorated or undecorated), including prep, baking, decorating, packaging, and cleanup (make sure to pay yourself a decent hourly wage!).
