I'm just starting out my cake business and am still in the process of figuring out my prices, servings etc.
I have an order for a sheet cake. I'm wondering what the standard size serving for a sheet cake is? After doing research on the internet, I'm confused
How many servings do you get out of a 9x13" sheet cake?
Do you torte and fill your sheet cakes?
Do you normally make your sheet cakes 4" in height like a standard cake?
I was planning on making a 9x13x2 sheet cake and filling it with buttercream and strawberry preserves and icing in fondant.
Standard serving size is 8 square inches. You can achieve that by cutting a 2" tall cake (traditional sheet) in 2" by 2" by 2" tall = 8 square inches. OR, for a layer cake (traditionally 4" tall) you cut 1" by 2" by 4" tall = 8 square inches
