I'm trying to encourage my kids to be creative with cake flavors (there is more than chocolate and white!). My four year old is asking for things like cherry and blueberry cake for his upcoming birthday. Now, I have a wonderful recipe that calls for white cake mix with a box of strawberry Jello and crushed. Has anyone ever tried adding other Jello flavors to white box mixes? I want to experiment, but I don't want to waste a lot of cakes. I also want him to have what he wants, but I don't want to gross out the rest of the party guests icon_eek.gif

I used to work in a cafeteria and they would make those poke cakes with different flavors of jello. I've seen strawberry, cherry, lime, orange... I would think if you have a recipe that calls for strawberry it would be good with cherry or blueberry instead.
