I have a family member that would like the cake that I have attached a photo of made. It's to feed 80-100 people. How much do you think I should charge them? Also, is the cake covered in fondant or buttercream?

What size cake are you making? How much is it going to cost you? How long will it take you and what is your time worth?

Do they want fondant or buttercream? I could say it is either one in the picture, but in the end what matters is if they want a fondant covered cake or a buttercream one.

If you know how to use Excel you should make a spreadsheet and that way you can put in all of your ingredients and the cost, with the right formulas it will give you a breakdown of cost per slice and you will know what to charge. Its hard for other people to tell you how to cost your cakes when we dont know what recipes you'll be using etc. I would also make them specify and exact number of servings, 80-100 is too broad, I think thats what you said, or I would just do the 100 and charge accordingly. If I was the customer I would rather have too much cake than not enough.
