What would be the best way to achieve silver looking roses and decorations for a 25th anniversary cake. I have never worked with luster dust or anything like that, so details would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!!! icon_biggrin.gif

How silver are you wanting the roses? It would be very pretty if you made white roses then painted the silver luster dust on the ends of the petals. But if you want the entire rose to be silver, I would add the luster dust directly to the frosting before you begin.

If you want them to be very silver...make them out of gumpaste or fondant first and then use silver luster dust or silver hilite dust. I mix mine with a drop or two of vodka so it's almost a paste and then paint it on with a brush. Two thin coats makes it look truly silver!
