I'm making an Italian cream cake that called for 1 stick of butter and 1/2 a cup of shortening. I forgot to put in the shortening. Do you think it will be ok?

Will your cake still be edible, yes. Will it be a good as if you added the shortening, no.

But if you've never made or eaten this cake before, it could be passable...
