I was actually relieved when talking to the bride that all she wanted for her wedding cake was a "mini" wedding cake. She just wanted a small display cake for her and her groom to cut at their reception, and then they were serving cupcakes that her and her mother had made to the guests. She showed me a few designs she liked on larger cakes, and we came up with this cute litte one. the tiers are 6" and 4". She was delighted when I showed up with it, and her family were more than complimentary. I am filled with a lot of extreme giddiness right now. I can see how this gets addicting you y'all professionals!! icon_biggrin.gif I can see from the pics where I can improve, but right now, I am just enjoying the afterglow of pleased "customers." icon_lol.gif

Oh, yeah. If you want to see it

I just wanted to extend a thankyou for replying Marianna46. Apparently it is a tough crowd here. I was just on cloud 9 after hearing such kind things about my cake. I thought I would share with some that would "get it." Oh well. I am proud of my cake, and the opinions that mattered, loved it. Thank you for your kindness!! It really did mean a lot to me!

It's also a big crowd with lots and lots if posts! icon_smile.gif I actually check this site 3-4 times a day, and know I miss tons of stuff. for example, this thread. I know how you feel though. I posted a pumpkin/tree stump came I was immensely proud of and it didn't get much attention, it's just how it goes! Your cake is adorable by the way. I LOVE the color of the bow! you did a great job! icon_smile.gif

I think I was most excited because I was terrified. You are responsible for a cake for a wedding... not exactly like a kid's birthday where everyone is more excited about eating it, rather than staring at it taking pictures!! To drop it off, and to have that kind of reaction, the weight was off my shoulders and I have a hard timer recalling ever feeling proud of myself. I think it has at least ripped off the wedding bandaid... that I may be more apt to attempt larger scale cakes... someday. icon_smile.gif need a bit more practice first. Thank you so much for your compliments. That was the best Saturday I have had in a while. icon_smile.gif and the email that followed on MOnday, just about made my life!! thumbs_up.gif

You should be proud of your efforts because your cake is lovely. I understand how you feel. As a beginner, I work so hard and prepare for weeks and always hope that others will appreciate my efforts too. A little affirmation from others is always nice. Just enjoy the GLOW and keep baking. Hope to see more of your cakes in the future.
