Had a shoprite cupcake today and was wondering what kind of frosting it was. The frosting was very smooth, not gritty, and reminded me of a whipped cream....does anyone know a close recipe? It was pretty darn good and Im not into frosting! Also, it looked like a yellow cake...Im wondering what the difference is between a yellow cake and a vanilla cake....

Not so sure about the frosting part but a yellow cake is made with whole eggs not just eggs whites and hence yellow cake where as a white cake cake has only egg whites hence white cake(mostly used in weddings).A Vanilla cake would be a cake with predomonantly vanilla flavor irrespective of being yellow or white.I hope this helps!
