ok so i follow the wilton serving chart.. which is a cake that is 4 inches high..
my question is, how much more does a cake serve when its 6 inches high instead of 4 inches...
for example how many servings will a 8 inch round cake that is 6 inches in height serve ?
I would say it would serve 1 .5 times the amount. I would look at what a regular height 8 in cake serves which I believe is 24 so half of that because it is a half layer would be 12 so you would get a total of 36 servings. Maybe someone else with more knowledge will help but that is what I think.

I was thinking the same thing too.. Just wanted to make sure

I'm curious how you plan on slicing that?
When I do taller tiers I still slice each piece from top to bottom. I slice them thinner but there's no way I get 1 1/2 times the number of servings as a 4" tier serves.

Honestly, I wouldn't count a 6" inch high cake as any more servings than a 4" high one unless you are going to make 2, 3" cakes with a stop board between them for slicing.
I agree with this. In theory this cake would serve more or bigger slices at least and there should be an up charge to your regular serving.
But in reality, cutting really thin tall slices of cake are going to be a PIA, so I would just use a standard size for it.
