I am making a sheet cake that will have blue buttercream and blue gel on top with a krispie treat sail boat on top. I want the sides to be smooth white buttercream.

The cake itself will be a lemon cake with fresh strawberry buttercream filling. It will probably be 4 layers total.

I would like the white buttercream around the cake to also have the strawberry flavour but not the color. Can this be done? How?

If it can't be done, then should I just go with vanilla on the outside walls?
Thanks

LorAnn oil extract comes in strawberry. I have used this in butter cream and even though the extract is a pink color you use so little of it that it does not change the color of the butter cream. HTH
