I have traveled to Iowa for my mom's 80th and I'm making the cake and have had one problem after another! What I'm needing help with now is my fondant! I pre made everything to bring with me so as to not have as much to do when I got here.

Well, my MMF is totally messed up! It looks allot like play dough! I've tried working in crisco-several TBSP- but doesn't seem to be helpingicon_sad.gif I'm on the verge of tears! I already had to bake all of my cakes over because dispite freezing them, they didn't survive the trip, they were all deformed!

I'm about to throw in the towel here, I'm feeling very defeated! Someone please help!! THis is a big event with some 100 people attending And incase it isn't obvious, I'm a NEWBIE icon_cry.gif

Do you have to cover the cake in fondant? Can you ice the cake in buttercream instead?

I'm not sure where you are, but you might just look for a local store that sells premade fondant. I love MMF too, but it's not worth throwing in the towel over!

Don't be discouraged! You can conquer this cake!
