I've seen several toy story cakes on this website and the bottom tier usually has a "wood" fence. I'm looking for directions and ingredients on how to make the fence. Thanks so much. Need to make this cake within the next couple of weeks.

i used brown fondant but you could use gumpaste if you need them to be firm. Mine was not much higher than the cake so they stayed upright. and i used the little wheel cutter from wilton to draw the line marks in the fence. trying to make each one different. put some etching at the top, make some lines shorter, some longer, put some 'wood knots' in there too by making oval rings inside one another. Then I mixed some brown icing color with a tiny bit of vodka and painted the darker marks...ill try to attach a link to the picture. HTH>

Tiggy2 and chinacat77 thanks so much for the information. Tiggy2, I just ordered the fence cutter...crossing my fingers for great results.

Hi, if you check my photos, I made the cake you're probably making (very common TS cake) and for the fence I just cut fondant strips, used a wood grain impression mat, and placed on cake. It would look fine without the impression mat too! HTH
