I am trying not to panic the shoe to top my cake broke just split crossways on the sole of the shoe. The worst thing is the cake is due tomorrow & I don't have time to make another to replace it. So what I'm trying to do is make one out of a RKT So it won't be slim & streamline like the original shoe and I'll have to change the design of the shoe. I couldn't get the RKT slim enough I covered the molded RKT in melted chocolate & put the fondant over it. It's just more bulky than I would like. I still have a long way to go in making it. Then airbrush it & finish the design on the cake. Not to mention I ordered the wrong cut out for the designs and I'm gonna have to wing them. So not only is the shoe broken so am I cause I'm already working on 3 hrs sleep

Oh did I mention the other cake also due tomorrow It's gonna be a long night

I hope you didn't throw out the shoe!!!! Make some royal icing the same color as the shoe....then carefully "glue" the shoe back together....and prop it up using whatever form you used to make it. Let it dry a few hours....Then maybe cover the seam by putting a new insole on top of the old one (very thin gumpaste) and that will also help hold it together. Then royal icing it to the top of the cake. The combination of the repaired sole and the royal icing sticking it to the cake should support it enough. Good luck!

That exact thing happened to me when I was making my granddaughter's diva cake a few months ago! And I did exactly what Kitagrl said. You could hardly tell the difference! Best of luck and here's hoping you get a little shuteye soon, platinumlady! If you didn't put an insole in your shoe, go ahead and do it now. It will cover a multitude of sins!

I'm just now seeing this...unfortunately I had already discarded the broken shoe. My brilliant idea of the RKT shoe...yeah right ....hideous is putting it mildly only thing I can think of is going and getting a tiarra & put on top of it instead of a shoe. Of course that's money I don't really have to spend but I don't know what else to do. I spent so much time on the other "shoe" that I don't have time to do much else. Trying to my head in this cause at this point I want to just say forget the whole thing. But I know they can't go without a cake

What was the original shoe made of? I'm sure the cake turned out great in the eyes of the customer!

I made it out of 50/50 gumpaste & fondant and also added tilex to it. I'm heaving handing & I think somewhere along the way I was just too rough with it. I didn't follow my first mind which was to make two just in case.

I thought I was gonna have to pay $40 for a tiara however, I found a nice one for $19 @ party warehouse I'll post pics tomorrow she & her mom were really happy with it

Although she only wanted one shoe instead of two. also didn't want hearts she wanted a champagne bottle or glass but since that wouldn't really go by the cake without looking awkward I suggested the champagne and bottle cutouts in place of the hearts. So as I stated earlier the shoe broke....
